Local wildlife

The feature image with this post is of either a terrapin or a turtle.

We were out walking locally near a pond close to home recently when we spotted it sunning itself on the fallen down tree.

Quite often with my Twitter account I use the hashtag #NatureIsAmazing.

We had a chat with a lady who was more local than us and we all marvelled at it’s ability to live in what looked like really muddy water.

Once we were home we did a bit of browsing to learn more about such a wonderful creature.

To our horror it’s unlikely to survive when the lake freezes over during winter.

We can only hope that it has a nice warm hiding hole somewhere around the banks as there’s practically no chance of rescuing it due to the huge size of the lake.

My blog about random things that interest me. When I'm not running computer programs to make things happen, I'm out and and about running around my local neighborhood mindfully getting muddy.
